Palmerston North

                                          Palmerston North Trip


96, 97, 98, 99, 100! Yay! We did it, we finally did it. "Uh what exactly did you do?" Asked James. "We counted to 100 with out even moving." I answered. So we continued the trip for the next half an hour(30 min). The only thing everyone was doing in the van was singing, talking, dancing and playing games. It was fun though. 30 mins later we reached Palmerston North."Finally!" Tamelia shouted. "Whoa Tamelia who knew you actually could shout that loud." Jax said. We were at the park taking a break. After our play we went in groups and took a walk around the plants, looking at the plants. We found lots and lots of painted rocks. It was really fun. We spotted 4 plants, they were Kawakawa, Harakeke, Daylight Lillypad and Moss. After that we ate lunch and had another play.

Writing Prove it 37

L.I Can I use personal voice to add effect?

"Where are all the birds?'' I asked myself. So far on this walk I've only seen 1 Falcon and that's it. Awhina talked to us about all the plants, trees and what their purpose is. When we learnt about Rangiora I saw all the birds flying up in the sky. I was feeling a little panicked, I thought there was a earthquake or a cyclone or a Hurricane, I thought it was the last day for me. Soon I just realised that it was the loud noise that we were making. After the tour we drank some tea out of Kawakawa leaves. It was yum, we left Gordon's Bush and headed back to school.

L.I. Can I use speech marks in my stories?

"Hey Preston" yelled Kyzahn from the other side of the road, "Hi Kyzahn" I yelled back. I told Kyzahn to come to me so we could get ice-cream, he agreed with me. "What flavour should we get Kyzahn?" I asked. "We should get chocolate." Kyzahn said. We got our ice-cream and walked back to my house and played video games. "Lets play Halo 5." Kyzahn said and we played until 2:00 in the morning. It was the best day ever.

What I Did In The Holidays

In the holidays my family and I drove to Auckland, we ate some food over at the cafeteria at the sky-tower , it was really fun. There were two Mascots in the dining room trying to make people laugh, that definitely worked on my little brother.

Acostic poem T2 W1

McDonald's was full of people so it took a while to get our order.

Coke was the only drink that my cousin was drinking.

David was always wanting lots of food from McDonald's.

On the counter there was a tiny statue of Ronald McDonald.

No one was in the play ground so we had it all to our selves.

At McDonald's the people at the counter gave us a word find.

Later on there was a group of people singing outside.

Dogs were eating the food that was dropped on the floor.

Smells delicious.

Workshop 25 Prove It

At the end of the day I came back from school Mum came inside with a box that was jiggling around. There was a hole in the box, I peeked inside "Boo". An eye peeked through the box. Mum opened the box, there was a little green alien. He looked terrified when he looked at us, he had a joy stick on his head, one eye and brown spots all over his body. So I took care of him and the first time I saw him smile he had two buck teeth, so I named him Bucky. 

The next day I walked to school I told Bucky to stay home and stay out of trouble. As James came to pick me up and walked with me to school, Bucky jumped in my bag with out me noticing. When I was in music class our class made some music and then Bucky joined in. I told him that he was very cheeky in the middle of the song. As the teacher asked me what I was doing, I answered with "Nothing Mr Frank". 

As me Bucky and James walked home James was asking me what he was, I answered "I don't know". When me and Bucky reached home, I went to my room and played games. Bucky came and wanted to play and when he was playing I went to bed. On Wednesday Bucky woke up and had breakfast, or as he calls it beastfast because he eats a lot. At that moment I knew we were going to be best friends.

Prove It Workshop 24

On camp our class walked through the tall green itchy grass. We needed to climbed over a fence to get to the mud run, the dirt path to the mud run was very squishy and browner then my eyes. We finally got to the mud run. We walked in the gooey squishy mud. All of the mud was sticking to my red, crimson shirt. The mud was taller then me I could barely touch the ground. The dirt inside of the mud was wetter then a seal. The mud made me feel like I was in a giant bowl of pudding. The sticky mud was pulling me to the ground. When we were all out every one was covered in mud like they came out of a chocolate fountain shower.

Workshop 20 Prove it

I was very tired in the morning because I stayed up late and I was in a rush for school. I ran down the street and I turned to Carlton Ave because I was late for school. I ran as fast as I could. I wanted to get to school on time. I was at the school gate and the gate was still open when I got inside I was on time.  I ran to class as fast as I could.

Workshop Prove It

L.I. Can I use alliterations in my sentences. 

Everyday when it's a hot day I go to the nice fresh Igloo Ice cream factory to get ice cream. One day it was so hot that the ice cream would start to melt every 5 seconds. So I walked to Marks Average Arcade to buy some hot hotdogs. After a few hours the hot day started to cool so I bought as many Igloo Ice creams I could buy.

Community Walk

On Monday Room 1/2 went for a  walk with Miss Hume, Mrs Palmer and Mrs McAvoy. We were talked about all of the things we could see that we could personify for our writing. We taking  breaks every 10 minutes. Every break we took we talked about the new personification we could make and the communities we saw. On one of the breaks a dog came and sat down by us. At the end of the walk we walked to the park but then it started to rain on us. So we ran to cover under the trees. It was a while until the rain stopped so we ate our morning tea under the trees. When the rain was starting to stop  Mrs Hume called three cars to come pick some of us up  only 4 people could go in each car. The rest of the class walked back to school with umbrellas.

CarltonRocks

At Carlton School our room are painting rocks. What we did first is we drew what we were going to paint on our rocks on to a A5 piece of paper. After that we painted the base of the rock which was the top of the rock. After that we drew our primary colour after we drew our background. Lastly we drew our secondary color and now we are going to hide them for our class buddy's to find them.

Paragraph Writing

In class we have been learning to groups similar ideas into paragraphs. Here is one I wrote about an important person to me.


My Dad has lot’s of hair in his beard.  It tickles me when he hugs me.  He doesn't shave his beard as he likes it too much.  He has dark brown eyes and he wears glasses because he has bad eyesight.  He has black hair like me with tiny grey hairs in it.  He got them because he is getting older.

How to make a Spinning Top

Materials:
Scissors
Felts
Cardboard
Skewers
Bottle top 
Drill
Pencil

 Method
 First drill a whole in the bottle top
Second place the bottle top on the cardboard  paper and trace around it.                        
Thirdly cut out the circle with scissors.
After that use the felts to colour in your circle.
Lastly put your cardboard circle in the bottle top and put a hole in the center with a pencil, push your skewer through the hole.
Finally start spinning and have fun.   
Please ask an adult to drill the hole for you.

Water Cycle Report

Condensation is when the water inside the clouds become heavy and it start’s to rain or sleet or snow.

Image result for watercyclePrecipitation is when the rain goes to a mountain and goes inside the mountain.

Accumulation is when the water inside comes outside and becomes a stream and then turns into a river.

Evaporation is when the river connects to the ocean and then there’s a spot where the sun evaporates the water and gives it to the clouds.

Transpiration is when little droplets from plant come up and go to clouds.
